This photo was taken, looking back up toward the rim.

Nobody is really looking down to their right. Their eyes maybe closed.

Look just ahead at the edge of the trail.

I think they called this section "Jacob's Ladder"

If you look through the opening in the left of the photo you can see Plateau Point, our destination.

The corner that you see above is where the trail comes down into the canyon. You can't see any of the trail from below, but it's there.

This is a zoomed in photo of what is believed to be an old Indian storage room. Probably for grain and foraged food. The opening is tall enough to walk in and the room goes back into the mountain approx. 20 feet. Also the temp. stays around 70 degrees.

Below is the same photo without zooming in. Notice the size of the trees down below the cave.

This is nearly down to the plateau level.

The plateau is in the left of the photo. The gorge in the center of the photo is where the trail branches off to go to Phantom Ranch in the bottom of the canyon. The bottom is about another 1300 feet down.

Second man from the left looks familiar.

Down in this gorge is the Colorado River.

Pay attention to the distant grassy looking area in the bottom center of the photo. This is where we got more water for ourselves and the mules. It is a shaded rest area for all who pass through.

The Colorado River 1300 feet below

In this photo you can see the trail that goes on down to Phantom Ranch.

In the center of the photo you can see more of the trail to Phantom Ranch.

Heading out. The far corner is where the trail is leading us. Again you see the oasis just to our left. It is farther than it looks.

This is the oasis and this is Dallas and Cole. They were our trail bosses.

In the shade.

The way out.

Dinosaur Rock

Another shot of the way out of the canyon.
